Please join us for our Citizen’s Police Academy. Our Academy consists of an 8 week course that covers the following topics:
- Police Structure/Admin Overview
- “Routine Patrol” & Officer Safety
- Investigations, Evidence, Crime Scene & Fingerprinting
- Probable Cause, Reasonable Suspicion, Search & Seizure
- Handcuffing & Searches
- DUI & Standardized Field Sobriety Tests / Drunk goggles
- Community Policing / School Resource Officers
- K9 Unit & Demo
- Use of Force & Taser Demo
- Shoot/Don’t Shoot Simulator
- CPA Graduation
- Ride- A-Long
Our Academy is for informational/educational purposes only to help shed light on what your police department does on a day to day basis. Our Academy is not designed or intended to be certified in any law enforcement training.
The Citizen’s Police Academy will be limited to 8 participants a year. It is open to citizens outside of the City of Chillicothe but residents will be a higher priority.
Make sure you have your completed application returned to the police department by June 1st 2021 Attention Sgt. Nick Bridges. All accepted applicants will notified by June 7th 2021.

Our Academy will be 8 weeks of instruction starting June 16th. The classes will take place every Wednesday 5pm-7pm at the Chillicothe Police Department.
