POLICE EXAMINATIONS
CHILLICOTHE, ILLINOIS
The Board of Police Commissioners for the City of Chillicothe, Illinois hereby gives notice that examinations will be offered to all eligible applicants for the purposes of hiring and merging with the existing hiring list.
In order to apply for employment with the Chillicothe Police Department an applicant must be at least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age by the test date. Military veterans may extend the age limit by one year for every year of active duty, not to exceed ten years. Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required at the time of testing.
Examinations will be given, Saturday, 2/19/2022, at 9:00 am at Illinois Valley Central High School, 1300 W. Sycamore St., Chillicothe Illinois. Oral interviews will be held Saturday, 2/26/2022 at 10:00am at the Chillicothe Police Department, 823 N. Second St. Chillicothe Illinois.
Applications may be obtained and returned to City Hall, 908 N. Second St., Chillicothe Illinois, 61523, in care of Jerry Donnelly. Applications must be returned no later than 3:30 PM on 2/08/2022. Late applications will not be considered.
The city reserves the right to require reimbursement of training expenses on a pro-rata basis if an officer resigns within the first two years of employment.
Appointments will be governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Police Commissioners.

CPD offers a starting wage for a probationary police officer of $25.55 an hour with an increase to $28.76 an hour after completing your probationary period along with excellent benefits which include physical fitness test bonuses, overtime, holiday pay, 10 paid holidays, 64 sick hours per year, 40 personal hours per year, up to 160 hours vacation hours per year.
